WHAT IS ISLAAM

Islam means total submission to God (called Allah in arabic), and this means to worship God in the way taught to us by prophet Mohammed. It is a complete way of life and followers believe ONLY THREE things:  

1. 1. Tauhid  i.e. ONE God, who has no associates, partners or children.
2. 2. The QURAN,  (Book revealed by God to the Prophet - contains God's words)
3. 3. The SUNNAH {teachings of our Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) }

A TRUE follower who claims to follow Islaam DOES NOT believe in anything else in addition to the above.There are no saints, no holy-men, and no gurus in Islam. Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) encouraged people to Worship God alone- he forbade people from worshipping him (Muhammed) or elevating his status. He was a human being, made of flesh and blood, and was chosen by God to give mankind the final message. He was the final Prophet sent to man. There will be no new Prophets before The Day of Judgement, the time when the universe is totally destroyed.
